ETL WORKSHOP
From Raw Data to Structured Pipelines
Objective
In this Masterclass, we will build data pipelines from the ground up. Starting from the core concepts of data architectures, ETL and ELT, you will progressively work with raw data formats like JSON and CSV, apply transformations, and ultimately load data into Snowflake, an industry-leading cloud data platform. You will also work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), a professional enterprise ETL tool used widely across organisations running on-premise and hybrid data infrastructure.
The masterclass runs across 13 classes. Teaching classes are interspersed with two assignment checkpoints, and the workshop concludes with a capstone project and final presentations. By the end, you will have designed and executed end-to-end pipelines and understand when to transform data before loading it (ETL) versus after loading it (ELT), and why that distinction matters in practice. You will also be able to navigate both code-first and visual ETL tooling, giving you a well-rounded foundation for any data engineering role.
